
From pro wakeboarding and freestyle motocross to bomb squad demonstrations and live music, the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest is dishing up exciting entertainment and activities to suit all tastes on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March.
Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams said families and thrill seekers will be spoilt for choice during Crab Fest weekend with a program designed to delight all ages and interests while showcasing Mandurah’s waterways and best loved spaces.
“We’re gearing up for an action-packed Crab Fest weekend, with a massive program of events, entertainment and activities free for the whole family,” Mayor Williams said.
“The Mandurah Action Sports Games is back at Crab Fest this year, with some of Australia’s best action sports athletes competing for cash and prizes over three days. We're also excited to welcome the WA Police Force Careers Expo to Mandurah this year where you can find out about joining the Force and enjoy live action demonstrations.
“Plus, there’s all the Crab Fest family favourites including a great line-up of local and national acts on the Seaside Estate Music Stage, cooking demonstrations on the Spudshed Cooking Stage, a fantastic fireworks display on Saturday night, the Spudshed Yellow Brick Road, and the Alcoa Family Zone with heaps of activities including a dedicated children’s stage.
“We’re proud to deliver this free family event with something to do for everyone, right here in Australia’s Top Tourism Town.”
The Mandurah Action Sports Games will be held from Friday evening, 15 March to Sunday, 17 March with sports competitions including roller skating, pro wakeboarding, BMX, basketball, motocross, scooters, skateboarding and electric racing. Catch all the action on the Mandurah estuary and the Western Foreshore.
The Alcoa Family Zone in Mandjar Square will be the perfect spot for families and children with heaps of free and lowcost activities, including the Children’s Stage presented by Alcoa Australia with live performances all weekend.
There will be plenty more to keep the kids entertained including amusements, an interactive SciTech display, roving entertainers, a nature playground and the return of the popular Spudshed Yellow Brick Road experience.
Keith Holmes Reserve and the Marina Beach will serve up relaxed family fun during the weekend with activities and music, plus Crab Fest partner 92.9 Triple M Perth will add to the fun with games and giveaways.
The WA Police Force Careers Expo will be held from 10am to 5pm during Crab Fest weekend on the Eastern Foreshore and Keith Holmes Reserve. Find out all about an exciting and rewarding career in policing with the displays and demonstrations. The Expo will feature live action demonstrations from the bomb squad, a chance to hop aboard a Water Police vessel and an opportunity to check out the latest tech the WA Police Force are using to fight crime. The Police Recruiting team will be there to answer questions about a career in the WA Police Force.
The 2024 Crab Fest footprint will stretch from the City Centre and along Mandurah’s Eastern and Western Foreshores, Mandjar Square and over to the award-winning Mandurah Ocean Marina.
The Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest is a City of Mandurah event, supported by the State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program.
